Levi Manuel – Musician

Levi Manuel is a composer and multi-instrumentalist. Born and raised in Fredericksburg, VA, his musical life began by learning the violin when he was 11, which he continued to play through high school. Shortly after, he picked up guitar and has since learned how to play bass guitar, piano, and drums. Throughout high school, he performed in a series of hard rock and progressive metal bands in his hometown as a guitarist and a bass guitarist. He is currently a bass guitarist for the University of Mary Washington jazz ensemble, which has performed along groups such as the White House Band.

Levi began composing original pieces in 2016 under the instruction of Dr. Mark Snyder. His first public original composition performance was at the 2016 Electro-Acoustic Barn Dance, in which he performed his piece Rebirth with live mixing. His latest composition is titled Sonic Depths, which was debuted in Spring 2017 during his senior thesis presentation.

Levi graduated from the University of Mary Washington in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. He has since begun to pursue his Masters degree in Education, so that he may teach music in the near future! In his free time, Levi enjoys playing video games, watching shows on Netflix, spending time with friends, family, and his girlfriend, and walking and playing with his perfect canine companion. Levi is also a frequent concert-goer, as well as an avid road-tripper and beach lover.
